START WITH THE EVIDENCE

WHAT DOES HIGH-POLYPHENOL OLIVE OIL MEAN?

Polyphenols are naturally occurring compounds in extra virgin olive oil. Their concentration is measured in milligrams per kilogram and can vary by variety, harvest, extraction and storage.

A useful product page should show a range specification and the actual laboratory result for the presented harvest. PLOUMI displays both, so the buyer can distinguish a product promise from a batch-specific measurement.

BEFORE YOU BUY

SIX FACTS WORTH CHECKING.

A high number alone does not explain the whole oil. Look for evidence that connects the laboratory result to a real harvest, origin and production system.

View PLOUMI laboratory analyses →
  1. 01ACTUAL LAB RESULT

Look for a numerical measurement, not only a broad marketing description.

  2. 02HARVEST PERIOD

Polyphenol measurements and sensory character are tied to a specific harvest and batch.

  3. 03OLIVE VARIETY

PLOUMI uses 100% Koroneiki olives, a single clearly declared variety.

  4. 04ORIGIN

Clear provenance should identify where the olives were grown and the oil was produced.

  5. 05ACIDITY

Acidity is one quality parameter and should be read together with the wider laboratory analysis.

  6. 06STORAGE AND BOTTLING

Protection from heat, light and oxygen matters after extraction and before the bottle reaches you.

BUYER QUESTIONS

HIGH-POLYPHENOL OLIVE OIL FAQ.

What is high-polyphenol olive oil?

It is extra virgin olive oil with a comparatively high measured concentration of naturally occurring polyphenols. The actual result should be supported by laboratory analysis for the relevant harvest or batch.

What does mg/kg mean on olive oil?

It expresses the measured concentration in milligrams per kilogram of oil. A range such as 500+ or 800+ is a specification; the current laboratory number is the batch-specific result.

What is the difference between PLOUMI Classic 500+ and BIO 800+?

Classic 500+ is the everyday estate-grown range. BIO 800+ is certified organic and has a higher polyphenol specification. Both are 100% Koroneiki oils from Crete.

Can high-polyphenol olive oil be used for cooking?

Yes. PLOUMI is designed for everyday Mediterranean cooking as well as salads, bread and finishing dishes.

How should high-polyphenol olive oil be stored?

Keep it tightly closed and away from heat, oxygen and direct light. Dark packaging helps protect the oil during normal storage.
